I love your biscuits, rolls, and crescent rolls. They are delicious and easy to make on a weeknight, they go with most of the meals I make, and they store easily in the fridge until I'm ready to make them.
The trouble with them is that they come in packs of eight. My husband and I are a family of two, and eight rolls is just too many. I've tried cooking only 4 and saving the rest in the fridge until the next night, but they turn a funny gray color and they are no longer appetizing. I've tried saving the biscuits after they are baked, and they make great breakfast sandwiches in the morning, but I really have to commit to a lot of rolls in a short amount of time. I've also tried freezing them but they usually warm up to be stale and hard. Usually, we just eat too many rolls for dinner and then throw the rest away.
Last night my husband and I went to the grocery and were surprised to find the new packaging size of your rolls. They come in a five pack now, this is excellent news!
This is perfect for our family of two. We each get the perfect amount, and we don't have to waste any by tossing them out. I am all about portion control: I buy the little lunch sized bags of chips even though they are more expensive, I buy guacamole in 100 calorie packs because I can (and have) sat down and eaten an entire container of guac, sometimes I'll even put half of the taco meat into a Tupperware before I start serving so we can have a second meal and don't overeat. So, thank you for applying portion control to my biscuit needs. Now if only I can get the crunchy taco shell people to do the same thing - we never eat all 12 of those things.
The only remaining down side to pillsbury biscuits is that every time I open the container I cringe until it finally pops open, and then I jump and emit a tiny little scream. EVERY TIME.
Of course, the whole point of smaller portion sized biscuit packaging is lost, if you keep it a secret! Why didn't you tell the world, EH?
Thanks Pillsbury!
Love,
